“Stuff your eyes with wonder, live as if you’d drop dead in 10 seconds. See the world. It’s more fantastic than any dream made or paid for in factories.” - Ray Bradbury, "Fahrenheit 451"

  • Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel

When I first read this I had expected the usual fast paced action/survival story, but instead I was given a story about hope, sacrifice, and love told through a thought provoking and engaging narrative. The more time that passes the more I realise the brilliance of this story and how it perfectly captures the beauty of the phrase: The human race will carryon. PS: If you have seen the tv show, this is so much better. - Paige, Harry Hartog Burnside

  • The Ferryman by Justin Cronin

This is how I love fiction (and in this case science fiction) to be written – here lays a story that develops as a fully realised world (utopian in model) with characters that you come to care for and get caught up in their daily happenstances, until suddenly the real truth is revealed, creating sense of what has been hidden and nibbling away at your perception that all is not what it seems – that THE WORLD IS NOT THE WORLD… I was taken by surprise and transported to new heights by the ending.- Micheal, Harry Hartog Bondi

  • Nevernight by Jay Kristoff

If you loved Arya Stark in Game of Thrones or Laura (X23-23) from Logan, or any tiny, murderous, revenge driven girls... let me introduce Mia. Her only goals are to attend the Red Church of the Lady of the Blessed Murder, become an unstoppable weapon and burn down the entire Republic. You know, just girlie things. This violent, dark, and fun a fun time. And to quote Paul Thomas Anderson, "There will be blood". - Allya, Bookseller
